ABSTRACT
---------------------
Patch for the Concensus Technologies Identity Manager Ellucian Banner Driver. This will take the build version to 4.0.2.2. You must have IDM 3.6.1 or later to use this driver.

Overview: This is a patch for the Ellucian Banner Driver that shipped in the original 4.0.2 Driver release

System Requirements: Novell Identity Manager 3.6.1 or higher

Ellucian Banner Enterprise Integration Services


Installation Instructions:

All Platforms:

NOTE: The old driver binary jar file MUST be deleted or removed from the library path. Renaming the old jar place will NOT prevent it from being loaded
and unexpected behavior will result.


1. Extract the patch to a temporary directory
2. Upload the patch file to the IDM server or remote loader host (dependent on configuration)

Files provided with the patch (with MD5 sums):

Linux:

The connector binary and accessory jar files are located in the eDirectory DirXML class library path. This path
is dependent on your install location, but is /opt/novell/eDirectory/lib/dirxml/classes in most installations.

1. Stop all drivers
2. Delete the existing Ellucian Banner connector binary jar file, ctbannershim.jar.

3. Copy the ctbannershim.jar file provided with the patch to the eDirectory DirXML library path.

4. Restart eDirectory - rcndsd restart (all drivers will restart)

 

Windows:

The connector binary and accessory jar files are located in the eDirectory DirXML class library path. This path
is dependent on your install location. On Windows hosts, it is typically [Install_Location]\NDS\lib

 

1. Stop all drivers
2. Delete the existing Ellucian Banner connector binary jar file, ctbannershim.jar.

3. Copy the ctbannershim.jar file provided with the patch to the eDirectory DirXML library path.

4. Restart eDirectory - rcndsd restart (all drivers will restart)

Remote Loader:

Remote loader driver paths are dependent on how the remote loader is installed. Locate the existing ctbannershim.jar on the 
remote loader host to identify the correct path.

1. Stop the remote loader instance.

2. Delete the existing Ellucian Banner connector binary jar file, ctbannershim.jar.

3. Copy the ctbannershim.jar file provided with the patch to the eDirectory DirXML library path.

4. Start the remote loader instance.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT INFORMATION

Fixes made in the Concensus Technologies IDM 4.0.2 Ellucian Banner Driver Patch 2 (4.0.2.2):

General Enhancements
- Performance enhancements. The number of round trips for a specific operation has been reduced dramatically, by an average of 60% per operation.
- Fixed multi-valued attribute handling for attributes in the Google Contacts API. The previous release did not support removing attribute values.
- Updated to current Google redistributable libraries (v 1.47). This also required updating to the xercesImpl.jar.
- Added support for Alias attributes on Google UserEntry objects to replace nicknames. Nicknames are not able to specify an address outside the current domain.

- BANNERDRV-16: Subscriber modify events do not send telephone numbers
- BANNERDRV-17: Campus phone extension lost from inbound UDCIdentity Documents
- BANNERDRV-18: When multiple <AddressLine> elements are present, only the first one is preserved
- BANNERDRV-19: Subscriber channel mal-forms phone numbers
- BANNERDRV-20: Status messages on the publisher channel needs to be changed to http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/:Envelope
- BANNERDRV-21: Explicitly declare the SPML and UDCIdentity namespace prefixes in the add and modify templates in the output transform xsl.
- BANNERDRV-22: All synced attributes must be provided on subscriber modify events
- BANNERDRV-23: Fails to create association on successful add to Banner
- BANNERDRV-24: MiddleName does not sync to Banner
- BANNERDRV-25: TaxID is not read from Banner
- BANNERDRV-26: Affix not syncing
